Pall Mall Investment Management Limited was founded as Pall Mall Partners Limited in 1998. One of the founding partners, Holger Pastel was previously employed by BZW, the investment banking arm of Barclays Bank, and was joined in 1999 by Curt Schibli (from Schroders) and Jonathan Goble (from Rabobank, previously also at BZW).

The first fund, the PALLMALL High Yield Europe Plus Fund, was launched in June 1999 managed then, as now, by Curt Schibli. This was one of the first dedicated European High Yield funds and it represents the Company’s benchmark portfolio and long-only product track record.

The High Yield investment team has shown notable stability since the outset. In recent years, the team has been enhanced with additional investment competence.

From its beginning, the Company has been focused on client service; we are dedicated to transparent reporting and communication with investors and have launched a number of structured products related to our funds. In 1999, we launched our first capital guaranteed investment in a Pall Mall fund and in 2002 we launched a principal protected note for German institutional investors, backed by a major German bank.
